This is a popular perennial for their lush, mound shaped foliage and vast variety. It is a low maintenance, shade loving plant. The lighter the leaves the more sun they will tolerate, but they still need some shade. There are over 2000 varieties of sizes and shapes. Colors vary in shades of pale yellow and creamy white to deep shades of blues and greens. They bloom on stalks much taller than the foliage in colors of white, lavender or pink. Plant in rich, fertile soil that is very well drained.
