This is a great, fast growing shrub to form a natural privacy hedge.  Privet will tolerate almost any soil conditions as long as it is well drained.  Green foliage with small white flowers that turn to clusters of black fruit in the early summer.  Both fruit and leaves are toxic to humans and pets.  Full sun will bring out the best color, but will grow in shade.
