Squash, Winter
-

Varieties: Butternut, spaghetti, pumpkins (giant, jack sprat, little) Hard skinned squash harvested late summer until it freezes.  These grow on vines, so allow plenty of grow to spread.  Because of hard skin, it can be stored over the winter.  These are used for cooking and pies, not to eat raw.  Ready 60-110 days after sowing.  Make sure it is ripe and ready before cutting from vine.  It will not continue to ripen after picked and will not be edible.  Plant in well drained soil and keep consistently moist.  Water at soil level.
