Hard skinned squash harvested late summer until it freezes. Because of hard skin, it can be stored over the winter. These grow on vines, so allow plenty of room to spread with full sun. These are used for cooking and pies, not to eat raw. Ready 60-110 days after sowing. Make sure it is ripe and ready before cutting from vine. It will not continue to ripen after picked and will not be edible. Plant in well drained soil and keep consistently moist. Varieties: Butternut, spaghetti, pumpkins (giant, jack sprat, little)
